Application for the 2010 Jackie McGehee Competition
The 2009-2010 competition will be held on February 13, 2010 at the Center for the Arts at the University of New Mexico. Admission to the performances is free and open to the public. A reception, hosted by the Guild, follows the award ceremony.

The competition is open to New Mexico high school students in grades 9 - 12. Applications are available from music teachers throughout New Mexico and by clicking here. Deadline for applications is January 4, 2010.

The first place winner in each division receives a cash award of $500 and a performance opportunity with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. The second place winner in each division receives a cash award of $300, and the third place winner in each division receives a cash award of $200. Additional cash awards may be offered at the discretion of the JMAYCC committee. 
Entry Fee and Information
A $35.00 non-refundable fee must accompany the application form.

Entry deadline for receiving all application information and materials is January 4, 2010. Deadline will be strictly enforced.

The following items must be included in your application package:
1. Completed application
2. $35.00 entry fee (make check payable to JMAYC)
3. Two 3"x5" black and white photographs suitable for publicity purposes. Photographs will not be returned.
4. CD or DVD of a sample repetoire, labeled with applicant's name and selection(s). Disks will not be returned.
5. 150 to 200 word biographical sketch of applicant
6. Letter of recommendation from applicant's music teacher
